Title: Overstayed Schengen - US Citizen
Post by: farberam88 on December 20, 2017, 11:48:12 pm
So I will make this straightforward:

I am a Graduate student at Uni.

I entered the EU (Schengen) 06 July 2017 and left 05 Dec 2017 (that's like 150+ days on a 90 day Visa)

I didn't get stopped at the border, no fines etc.

Right now I am in Albania waiting out the 90/180

If I want to have 30 days in Schengen, I guess I have to wait until 06 April 2018? Or do I have to suck it up and wait until June to go back?

I'll be applying for a residence permit when I am there (Vienna).

Thanks in advance!

P.S. The reason I was there so long was that I tried to apply for a res but my paperwork from the US was super late in arriving so I overstayed.

Hello, good luck for not beiing stopped at the border when leaving the Schengen zone. Had you been stopped, most likely you would have to pay fine. If you return to the Schengen zone on March 06, 2018, you will be entitled to a new period of stay until June 03, 2018.
