I am an Indian citizen, currently in Hannover, Germany. On schengener staaten, type C, multi, valid from 31-07-09 until 04-10-09 I came here to visit my husband, who is on work permit valid until june 2009 the problem is that I would like to get my visa extended. Please let me know if there is some means by which I can get it extended or converted to dependent visa from Germany itself, and for how long can it be extended? an extension of a tourist visa is usually not possible. Schengen visa are issued based on itineraries provided when you applied for the schengen visa. The schengen visa is also based on your health insurance coverage, proof of sufficient funds, invitation, etc. You might however contact an ambassador in your company and inquire about the possibility of an additional application. If you need a 100% sure andswer, I recommend calling the embassy. Good luck.
