Title: confused about multiple vs single entry schengen visa
Post by: Christine007za on June 04, 2010, 06:31:24 pm
Hi all

Please can anyone help? I'm so confused... ??? ???

I will be doing a European Tour ( I am a South African passport holder) so I will need to apply for a Schengen Visa..
The problem is, I will be flying into France first, then travelling by coach to Amsterdam, Germany ,Switzerland  etc and one of the stops is back into France?

since I will be going to France twice, will I need to apply for a multiple entry visa?

many thanks

Hi,
The concept of Schengen visa is that they are issued for the Schengen zone, not for an individual state. This means that once you have Schengen visa, you can travel to any country in the Schengen zone. See here for a list of all the countries that are in the
Schengen zone (http://www.euro-dollar-currency.com/schengen_zone_members.htm).

If you travel by coach, you are safe. There are no borders in Europe anymore, you do not stop anywhere. Border patrols are now only at the airports and that is between the Schengen and non-Schengen zone anyway.
