Title: Total confusion with tourist visa for Japanese.. please help
Post by: PEDRO on June 08, 2010, 08:28:22 am

Hi everyone,
please if u have some time read my issue:

my girlfriend, japanese, entered in austria on 23 feb 2010 and she stayed until 20 mar 2010 ( 23 days) , and on her passport there are just the 2 stamps for entry /exit , nothing says schengen visa and no stickers at all.
She is planning to come back on 25 Jul 2010, this time entering in italy.
The issue is: will she be able to start her "multiple entry schengen visa" from the 25 jul 2010 ? Or was this visa already started when she entered Austria on 23 feb 2010 ?

Please help me! I am desperate.. :-[

Your question is a little confusing. Japanese citizens do not need Schengen visa to travel to the Schengen zone (do not confuse border patrol stamp with a visa). See here for Who needs Schengen Visa (http://www.euro-dollar-currency.com/who_needs_schengen_visa.htm), unless for long-term stays. Does your girl friend study or work in Europe?
