Title: Your iso 27001 experience
Post by: ramki on October 19, 2008, 08:24:44 pm
Anyone who has looked at the ISO 27001 standard knows, certification is not easy.

Are you currently pursuing certification? Are you certified? Do you care about certification?

Drop us a note with what worked well for you and what made you want to change careers.

Yeah, I was given the task of getting our company ready for ISO 27001 audit, so I started studying it theoretically. Now I am getting into the detailed work of finding out about policies, how to write them and so on. I have a lot of experience from outsourcing and insurance, so ISO 27001 kind of seems to me pretty much common sense dealing a lot with what I have already seen in my career.

Information security is expensive, but it is also very important. We are implementing ISO at our company. We have it planned for 2 years.

Yeah, easy. Our price tag is some $20,000. Tell me how easy is that!

In a market which is more and more competitive, it is sometimes very difficult to find something that will differentiate you in the eyes of your customers. ISO 27001 could be indeed a unique selling point, especially if you handle clients' sensitive information.

My ISO 27001 experience was very good.ISO 27001 requires the development of a comprehensive information security control system with an in-depth analysis of the modern technologies on systems security.
