Title: Does travel days count towards your 90 days / 180 days
Post by: Amy T on April 15, 2011, 09:16:52 pm
Hi,
I am an Australian citizen currently based in the UK (I have a UK ancestry visa valid until 2015). I have been travelling frequently to countries belonging to the Scheghen area since the 19th January 2011, as I understand the rule I have 90 days that I am allowed to be in the schengen area until the 17th July 2011.

I plan to travel at two or three week periods through this time, does the travel day ie plane trip from England to Lithuanina, for example count as a day out of my allowed 90 days. And vice versa, does the travel day from Lithunina to England count as a day out of the 90 days.

It is my view if you are in transit, and flying from one country to another it should not be counted as a day out of my allowed time.

Thank you for any assistance.

Regards

Amy T

You are correct, the day on which you travel does count.
