Title: What type of Schengen Visa should I apply for if I'm doing an Internship?
Post by: kathleenstaves on December 13, 2011, 07:50:39 pm
Hi,  I'm going to Italy to do a 5 month internship in 2012 and am not sure what type (category) of Schengen Visa I should apply for? I am assuming either C or D, but am not sure which is more appropriate? I am coming from Canada and there is no travel required for the internship in Italy (just getting there and back to Canada at the end), however I would like the flexibility to travel to neighboring countries for weekends or day trips. Any help is much appreciated.

Hello, your best option would be a

  • C+D type visa,
  • multiple entry,
  • for etats schengen (i.e. for the whole Schengen zone).

See Schengen visa categories (http://www.euro-dollar-currency.com/schengen_visa_categories.htm).
