Title: Extension of schengen visa
Post by: Angelierius on April 20, 2014, 09:22:25 pm
Hello!!

I am currently in Germany right now and I've been reading a lot about the minimum stay in a schengen country which is 90 days for a C type visa. I have a c type multiple entry visa good for a month, is it possible to extend it to the minimum 90 days? I think they've made it a month only coz I was planning to stay only for a week, but circumstances changed, and my fiancé who's a local here had an idea to come back and work here again. Any suggestions? And oh! I'm from Philippines. Thank you!

90 days is "maximum", not a "minimum". The 90/180 rule means that you can stay up to 90 days in the Schengen area. I do not think they give extensions to visa, you probably have to apply for a new one. In any case, you would need to return back to Phillipines to apply.
