For the Schengen, do the consulates ever contact the candidates for additional proof?
I have applied for a Schengen visa but I am unsure about the acceptability of the invitation letter. Is there any chance they will contact me if there is something more they want?

Thank you.

If they need anything else, they might contact you (if you provided your contact information), but it is quite unlikely. Usually, they make the decision with the information that they have available. If any information is missing, it is likely to be detrimental to the decision.
