Hello everyone

I would be really grateful to have your advice on the below:

I have a C type tourist Schengen visa valid from 2 Feb 2016 to 2 Feb 2018, with a duration of stay of 90 days (I presume it is 90 over any 180 days as mentioned across the forum).

I have been staying extensively in Switzerland for work and I have a work visa (D type) issued by Switzerland with no limit on my duration of stays. The validity is from 1 Dec 2016 to 31 Mar 2017.

My question is: Do the days I stayed in Switzerland under my D type work visa count toward the 90-180 rule of my C type tourist Schengen visa?

Thank you very much in advance!

Kind regards
E.K.

If your type C visa is subsequent to your type D visa, then the days you stayed in Switzerland under your type D visa count toward the 90-180 rule.

See this thread for more details:

Does duration of stay increase with 2 simultaneous Schengen visas?
