I think everyone got used to the bad and even worse news. What else can go wrong now, I guess not much. Are we at the bottom?

I do not think we are there yet. Just look at the hadlines....

Code:
Regulators on Friday closed Sherman County Bank in Nebraska, Riverside Bank
of the Gulf Coast in Florida, and Corn Belt Bank and Trust Co. in Illinois, marking
12 failures this year of federally insured institutions.

The Dow fell 82.35, or 1.04 percent, to 7,850.41. It was the lowest close since
Nov. 20, when the blue-chip index settled at a five-and-a-half month low of 7,552.29.

Light, sweet crude rebounded $3.53 to settle at $37.51 a barrel on the New York
Mercantile Exchange, after falling to its lowest price this year on Thursday.

Toyota Motor Corp., slammed by poor U.S. sales, said it is offering buyouts to about
18,000 workers.

There is a delay between what is happening now and what effect it will have on people. Until media massage the public with nightmares like this, we are unlikely to see any turnaround.

Man, I think we are not far away from the great depression, read this:

Quote
Japan's worse-than-expected fourth quarter GDP numbers were a sobering reminder of the toll the worst economic downturn in decades is having on Asia's export-driven economies. The world's second-biggest economy shrank 3.3 percent from the previous quarter, or at an annual pace of 12.7 percent.

Dow 8,574.65 today. That is awesome. I hope the rally will last. Or, could it be a temporary spike before another major fall?
