Schengen Visa for Indian National; US resident, visiting to UK for marriage.

Hello,
I am an Indian citizen, currently staying in USA on work permit. I will be visiting UK next month for marriage. I would like to visit to France and Switzerland after my marriage. Can I apply a schengen visa for the same from UK itself? OR , Do I need to apply for the schengen Visa from USA only?

I believe you need to apply in your home country, but I am not sure if the rules have not changed.
