Can I travel Schengen are by air if I have only Nederland visa (type D)?

I'm a non European who is studying in the Netherlands. My visa is type "D" (long-stay visa) with multiple entrance but it's valid for only Nederland and I don't have residence card yet.

Can I travel other countries in schengen area by air with my visa?

If it says that the visa is for Netherlands, then that is the only country where you can travel to. You will need to wait for your residence card or apply for another visa to other Schengen countries.
