Travelling on business to Poland (only), do I need a Schengen visa?

I have plans to visit Poland on business (training). I'm a resident of the Philippines so I know I need a visa. The question is, do I really need a Schengen "C" visa or can I just apply for a Business visa from the Consulate of Poland here in the Philippines? I'm only travelling to Poland and do not plan to travel to other countries covered by Schengen agreement.

Thanks for your help.

It is much more complicated to get work visa compared to tourist visa. If you travel just for a training (not a real employment), and the duration of your stay will be less than 90 days, you are fine with tourist visa.
