Dears,

Recently I have applied for a Schengen VISA for the SWISS Embassy.
The visit was for meetings & business purposes. Unfortunately there was some problem with my documents that i realized after the process was started. And the VISA was refused for the reason "your intention to leave the states territory before the expiry of the VISA was not ascertained".
I could appeal this refusal but when the the appeal decision is made it will be too late.

My question is should this refusal affect my record, so if i apply in the future for a schengen VISA through the Swiss Embassy or any other embassy - with my complete documents -will I get the VISA? Because i heard about somthing called VIS that shares all information about accepted and refused VISA.

Please feedback me, this is really confusing

You are correct. And there are a few other systems too, see here: Schengen Information System. However, they may not always check the applicant when issuing a new visa, and the records, I believe, have some expiration dates.
