Theoretically, if every and each website in the whole world on the whole internet is SEO optimized, what will distinguish the good sites from the less good ones? What will happen then? How will all the SEO consultants get some edge, and how will Google indexing and page rank work??

It will be the ideal situation. Now many crappy websites get good ranking because they have good SEO. If all pages are SEO equal, the selection process will be dependent more on the content of the website. Websites with good content win.

Ranking these days is not much about on-page SEO. Search engine ranking is about off-page SEO. The main parameter that determines your website popularity is the quality of your content and quantity of links to your site. So, even if every page in the world is SEO optimized, only those that the general public likes and links to will rank highest.

I believe it will be more and more important to provide quality content on a website as the search algorithms at search engines get more and more sophisticated.

As the search engines improve, it will be more difficult to gain good ranking simply via standard optimization practices. The actual relevance of the site itself will be more and more important. Relevance meaning both in the context of the content of the site itself as well as it's popularity on the internet.

Off-site seo will be the most important part of optimization. You will need good links from good websites to a content-rich website. Imho, the way it really should be.

I believe that search engines will be sophisticated enough to discern between a site that is truly relevant versus a site that is simple a SEO makeover. Time and effort should be put into making the site relevant in terms of content and relationships with relevant sites.

if all the sites will have equal SEO ranking then the whole thing will be based on the content of the site and the liking of the people Smiley
