Overstayed 3 years

My friend has overstayed Europe for 3 years or more. I want to buy her a ticket home, but I've heard warnings of her risking getting deported or something. she wants to come home, but I'm not sure whats going to happen?

Overstaying for three years, it is quite a long time. If he gets caught, I would count with deportation, heavy fine, and perhaps a ban for 10 years too.
