I do hope someone can help me with an advice or any similar situation like mine. Me (filipino) and my spanish fiance (not living in denmark) are getting married in denmark. By the way we are gays. We’ve been together for almost 8 months now and he wants to marry me however we all know philippines does not recognized same sex marriage, in spain yes they do but it would be a long process bec you have to wait a minimum of 6 months after you file for marriage and thats the only time you can get married. So we have no choice but to do it in denmark which is fast and straightforward. We’ve contacted a company in denmark already to assist us with the marriage including invitation from the company, the fees for the marriage, notice from the civil registry that they have approved our intention to marry. My questions are, do you think it will not be an issue for me getting a schengen visa going to denmark just for the wedding? I do have a job, properties and bank account to show that i have savings and can pay for the trip. as well as my fiance from spain will provide some docs that will prove that we are in genuine relationship. My fiance been here for 1 month and have met my family. he stayed in our house and we also traveled together in malaysia and singapore. He also sent me some money every month. Photos together will not be an issue bec we have a bunch of that. My only concern is that having the fact that i will marry in denmark i'm afraid that it maybe grounds of the embassy to refuse my visa bec they will think that i will stay illegally in denmark or any eu country and not go back. What’s your thoughts about that?

Your suspicion is correct. Getting just plain tourist visa is easier than getting visa to get there to get married.

Hello Yaris,

I appreciate your thoughts. I'm a little bit confuse because I wanted to be honest to the embassy.
